The EOSC Node European DTO is the marine thematic node within the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), supporting high-quality collaborative marine science and contributing to the European Digital Twin Ocean programme and its implementing facilities.
The EOSC Node European DTO ensures that new research products generated within its VRE feed into key EU data services, such as EMODnet, Copernicus Marine Service and EDITO, contributing to the co-development and growth of the European Digital Twin Ocean. It supports the existing marine knowledge infrastructure, allowing data to flow seamlessly from European Research Infrastructures to end-users through established aggregators (e.g., the EDITO Catalogue), without imposing access restrictions.
A modular multi-layered architecture
The Blue-Cloud Marine Node ensures its professional operation through a Service Management System aligned with FitSM standards and adheres to EOSC cybersecurity policies and best practices. The Node actively participates in the EOSC Federation by integrating with and contributing to the EOSC Federating Capabilities.
The scientific value of the European DTO Node is delivered through a comprehensive portfolio of Node Resources that combine collaborative environments, scientific applications such as the VREs and computing services.
The European DTO Node enables researchers to discover and access distributed marine resources through interoperable catalogues and FAIR data services, such as Persistent Identifiers (PIDs) and FAIR Digital Object publication.
